Hello all....although this is my first post (a very emotional time indeed) I do have a question. Has anyone ever been able to find copies of, or ever seen reruns of Groucho's game show? I've always wanted to see one of these.... |

There are some videotapes available from Goodtimes Video which contain one or two episodes of you Be Your Life. Sometimes these are for sale on ebay. There is also a boxed set of YBYL shows, five tapes I think. I would also love to get this set. Good luck! Hail Freedonia! Dan |

A friend of mine gave me a tin can with 2 cassettes in it of You Bet Your Life. I can't tell if it's the radio or the tv show (tv I think) The can is called Canned Laughter and the copyright is 1985 Groucho Marx Productions Inc. I'm not sure where my friend got it, but it is quite fun to listen to while I'm driving (or trying to drive between big laughs!). Has anyone else heard of these. Are there any others? |

Sorry for the late reply, but I've only just joined this forum. There are several audio and video cassettes of YBYL, some no longer available. The Winsome Foursome site - http://members.aol.com/marxbroths/content.htm- has a superb, extensive list of nearly all past and present releases of all Marx Brothers books, videos, records, tapes etc. Note that most of the videos, especially of YBYL are in American format only, so people like myself in England miss out (boo hoo!) Also check the ebay and Amazon web sites for a large number of Marx items for sale, including e.g. YBLY cassettes (which I have just purchased - yippee!) |

There are also about 11 episodes of YBYL in the public domain, and these appear from time to time on public television in the US(especially stations that have a strong nostalgia bent). The reason, I understand, that we no longer see the syndicated reruns is that Groucho's estate (i.e., his estate's shyster) is waiting for what is known in legal parlance as "the right price." If anyone's interested in the few public domain episodes available and can handle NTSC (US) format, please contact me and we can talk about trading. Many of these programs also feature the original commercials (including one ad for "Prom Home Permanent" featuring Chico and Harpo). Frank ------------------
