Does anyone know if there will be some celebration of the 50th anniversary of the TV version of YOU BET YOUR LIFE? I would think there should be. |

This is an excellent query. And the answer is no, at least as far as I know. However, I appreciate your bringing up this particular anniversary. This event will show up on my Marx of Time page, naturally, but that's not much. All I can do in the interim is try to get together some sound/video files to present on this momentous occasion. Stop by the page listed above on the fifth to see what I've cooked up. Otherwise, I'm afraid this particular anniversary is going unnoticed.

Anything planned (tv or otherwheres)for the anniversary of Groucho's upcoming birthday? 10/2 will be his 110th won't it? |

That doesn't surprise me. Guess who gets a lot of press on the anniversary of his death and Groucho is always overlooked. That makes me so mad sometimes I can't see straight. I don't have anything against Elvis, but really! Regarding YBYL, the real anniversary of YOU BET YOUR LIFE is October 26, 1947. That is when it first appeared on radio. I know for a fact that in 1997, on the 50th anniversary of the radio program, it didn't get a mention as far as I know. Oh, well, it is fans such as we who always remember. |
