Is anybody else out there watching the kick-ass TV game show, "You Don't Know Jack"? If not, DO!!!! Especially if you're a Marx Brothers fan!

I had read about it in the newspaper before the first episode aired, so I kinda knew what to expect; a tongue-in-cheek aspect similar to the Spice Girls' movie...but it didn't prepare me to be blown away by the sheer lunacy of it all!

Hosted by Paul Reubens(as Troy Stevens) with a bunch of back-up players, "You Don't Know Jack" feels like "What if 'You Bet Your Life' was hosted by ALL THREE Marx Brothers"! I'm serious! Mr.Reubens is constantly making fun of the guests(Groucho's forte), doing visual gags(a-la Harpo) and throwing out some perfectly AWFUL puns(shades of Chico). He's got such great energy that I can't tell whether or not it's ad-libs or written material that the canned laughter(ie: soundtrack) is laughing at(you also don't even notice that there happens to be an audience).

I KNEW I'd be justified in my choice of Mr.Reubens as a good candidate for Harpo if the need should ever arise; at the end of one episode, Paul, I mean, Mr.Reubens-the respect I had for this man just increased tenfold-even pulls out the old "scissors" prop and proceeds to snip the Yo-yo expert's string in mid-swing! It was more than icing on the cake, for me...it was sugar on the cherry on top of the icing on the cake! What can I say, I was tickled!

Now, I don't have ANY idea whether the writers, producers or anyone else involved with this show were going for this, or if they WANT this kind of comparison made, but I personally hope that they just keep on doin' what they're doin', cause it is MILES apart from anything else out there, not only on game show grounds, but also in sitcoms and other forms of "entertainment"; I mean, it's not pure gold or anything, but it's also not gold-plated, and it's tops in my books.
