Hi,

My name's Jodes and I'm new 'round these parts. Hello! And big apologies if I'm asking something that's been answered before. I'm new at this lark.

I was wondering what the official word is on an alledged missing first scene from A Night at the Opera. Apparently it was a musical number (although I don't think the Brothers were involved) set on the streets of Milan, which ended up in the restaurant where the film as we know it starts.

I've just finished reading Monkey Business by Simon Louvish, where he says that scene was scripted but not filmed, because the studio was sensitive about the Italian aspects, given the lead up to the war. But on the DVD release there's a commentary by a film historian (?) who says the scene was shot, and shown in the original theatre release, but later chopped out.

Anyone know the score?
